Sacred Opportunity to Serve Srila Gurudeva

For those whose lives have been touched by His Divine Grace Srila Gour Govinda Swami Maharaja, his birthplace is not simply a piece of land. It is the sacred place where our beloved Gurudeva appeared in this world—the place from which began a life of full dedication to Sri Guru and Gauranga, to the service of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and giving Krishna consciousness to the world.

Today, we have a rare and precious opportunity to preserve that sacred birthplace for generations to come In our Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, the birthplace of the Supreme Lord and His pure devotees is regarded with great reverence. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu Himself visited the birthplace of His spiritual master, Sri Isvara Puri, accepted the dust of that holy place, and glorified its spiritual significance.

Following in that same mood, we wish to establish Srila Gour Govinda Swami Maharaja’s Janma Sthan as a permanent place of worship, remembrance, Hari-katha, pilgrimage, and spiritual shelter.

Building a Living Place of Bhakti

For Srila Gurudeva’s disciples and followers, this opportunity is especially personal, Gurudeva gave us so much-his powerful Hari-katha, his uncompromising presentation of siddhanta, his tireless service to Srila Prabhupada, and his personal example of complete surrender to Sri Guru and Gauranga.

Together, we can build a temple at the very place where Srila Gurudeva appeared in this world.

This temple will not simply be a memorial. It will be a living place of bhakti, where devotees can come to remember Gurudeva, hear about his life and teachings, take darshan, perform seva, associate with Vaishnavas, and become inspired to carry his message forward.
